Why Australia?

Australia’s universal healthcare system is under pressure. Many healthcare professionals, policymakers, and government officials share the view that although the quality of care is high, the country’s healthcare spending is unsustainable and a drain on the economy.

Even it focuses on the alternative method of GDP and rational value and increase in the Nutritional health care and has the potential to sell its telemedicine and other telehealth services abroad, capture a share of the growing medical tourism market, and invest in foreign hospitals and other healthcare institutions.

Australia’s healthcare system and its outcomes rank highly. In 2014, Australia ranked with sixth position in the world in terms of healthcare efficiency and ranked seventh in 2013 in the Public Health Care.

Although Australians are expected to remain active longer due to better health, a much older population will inevitably put more demand on the healthcare system but the People who are not covered by the Medicare scheme or wish to be covered from the government and take out voluntary private health insurance which will be given by the government itself or many other health association and federations.

Australia offers healthcare system in the face of these challenges.  The current view of healthcare system as a burden to government and society, and healthcare spending seen as fiscally unsustainable.

Compared to other countries Australia universal health care system is primarily funded by Medicare, which funds a large part of the cost of health services and Public Health Care in Australia

Patient health costs based on the Medicare benefits schedule. Typically, Medicare covers 75% of general practitioner, 85% of specialist and 100% of public in-hospital costs. Patients may get other concessions or benefits. Patients may be entitled to further benefits once they have crossed a so-called safety net threshold, based on total health expenditure for the year.

Government expenditure on health care is about 67% of the total, below the OECD average of 72%.
